On the way to Cuenca, we do not the way to the direct bus 0-8-15 taken, but are in the evening to Riobamba down to where the adventurous train trip across the Andes to make. The next day we are
for the first time on our trip to the ungodly time of 5 clock in the morning!! got to buy the tickets for the "Ferrocarril".
Furthermore Lonely Planet says, be there at six o clock to get the seats in the back and on the right side! :-)
The journey took us through the mountain villages of Ecuador, through narrow gorges (see picture) and finally to "la nariz del diablo" (the Devil's Nose). This is a mountain peak that we have with the railroad switchbacks climb and circles. (No photo, you must still stretch on the rack)
